Shock Sensation

Shock Sensation Line

Shock sensation is one of minor menopause symptoms that some women may experience. It is “the feeling of a rubber band snapping in the layer of tissue between skin and muscle and often followed by a hot flash moment. It can also felt in the head with often associated with anxiety. The cause of this shock sensation is influenced by the erratic behavior of the hormones production sending electric waves to the nerve endings.

The shock sensation can happen on any part of the body and many women said they felt frightened the first time they experienced it. There is no specific time when this symptom is likely to appear but commonly to happen when you are going to bed or trying to relax.

The millions of nerves are linked to one another inside your body and make up your central nervous system. It is the conduit where information is transmitted to the brain. The brain will then analyze in split seconds the messages from the nerves and send feedback to the other body to take the appropriate action.

However, the nerves can send the wrong messages to the brain especially when the nerve tissues are damaged or there are other factors such as hormonal imbalance that are interfering the nerve function. In the case of shock sensation, the nerves may be working fine but the signal is distorted that give the wrong impression in the brain as if you are being shocked.

Some women does not see this problem as something major as it may only last for a short period and not so frequent. However, if the pain of shock sensation is not managed properly, it can affect your life. For more severe cases, the associate pain can be unbearable and make walking or dressing up simply agonizing.

Menopause is not the only cause of shock sensation as there are numerous other causes such as nerve damage, muscle pain or anxiety that can bring about this problem. Your doctor should be able to properly diagnose this symptom and recommend the appropriate treatment to target the root cause.

The first step in managing shock sensation or even the other menopause symptoms is by practicing a healthy lifestyle. Many women had found that exercises can minimize or alleviate their menopause symptoms. As such, it is recommended that you establish a regular exercise routine that is appropriate to your specific body.

If the shock sensation is due to menopause, bringing the hormones back to a more balanced level may minimize this symptom. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or natural herbal remedies such as black cohosh, dong quai and ginseng are popular amongst women to relief their menopause symptoms. It is important to note that you should always consult your doctor to discuss before starting any hormone therapy or natural remedies treatment.
